Ciao! My name is Eleonora Arosio and I’m an Italian illustrator based in Melbourne, AustraliaI grew up with a pencil in my hand, and since I was a kid, my teachers would tell me that I’d become an artist – I guess that was close enough! I studied Fine Arts at NABA in Milan, where I graduated in 2014 and began my freelance career, alongside my adventures, which provided me with endless inspiration for my characters and landscapes. Nowadays, I split my time between Melbourne and Milan. While my artistic style has evolved over the years, one thing that has always remained a constant is the naivety and fun vibe of my illustrations. My work primarily revolves around the intricacies of everyday life and issues, all from a woman’s ironic perspective. My ultimate goal is to influence the minds of new generations through this accessible form of art, contributing to the creation of a more open-minded society.

Ciao! 제 이름은 Eleonora Arosio이고 호주 멜버른에 거주하는 이탈리아 일러스트레이터 입니다. 어려서부터 항상 무언가를 그리며 자랐는데 선생님들은 제가 예술가가 될 것이라고 말씀하셨었죠.제 생각엔 충분히 가까워진 것 같습니다.

저는 밀라노의 NABA에서 미술을 공부했고 2014년에 졸업하고 프리랜서로의 경력을 시작했습니다. 요즘은 멜버른과 밀라노를 오가며 작업을 하고 있습니다.

저의 예술적 스타일은 계속해서 발전하고 있지만 제가 항상 놓치지 않는 두 가지는 순수함과 펀 바이브 (Naivety & Fun Vibe) 입니다.

제 작업은 주로 여성의 관점에서 일상생활의 복잡한 문제와 이슈를 중심으로 이루어 지는데 저의 궁극적인 목표는 이런 접근 가능한 예술 형태를 통해 새로운 세대의 마음에 영향을 미치고 보다 개방적인 사회를 만드는 데 기여하는 것입니다.

I pay special attention to the colour palette and the balance of my illustrations when creating my work. I want my images to be eye-catching and bring a smile to people’s faces. My inspiration often comes from everyday life or ideas that pop into my head. However, when I draw, I make sure to give it an aesthetic twist and follow my style to keep everything cohesive.

저는 작업을 할 때 제 그림의 색상 팔레트와 균형에 특별한 주의를 기울입니다. 제 이미지가 사람들의 눈길을 사로잡고 얼굴에 미소를 짓게 하고 싶습니다.

This is my first collaboration with a client from South Korea so I was thrilled to participate to say the least. I’ve always had a deep interest in South Korea. I love the cuisine and I’m fascinated by the traditions and the Korean way of doing design, which beautifully balances minimalistic aesthetics with the charming ‘Cute’ style. I believe it’s important to consider the cultural context when working on a project, especially when it’s targeted for a specific country. Therefore, while working on the sketches, I was inspired to infuse a Korean touch into my work. I wanted to express that connection and hope that I succeeded in doing so.

저는 한국에 깊은 관심을 갖고 있었고 이번이 한국 클라이언트와는 첫 협업이라 말할 것도 없이 기쁘게 참여하였습니다. 저는 한국 요리를 좋아하고, 미니멀 함과 귀여운 스타일이 아름답게 조화를 이루는 한국의 디자인 방식에 매료되었습니다. 특정 국가와의 프로젝트를 진행할 경우에는 문화적인 맥락을 고려하는 것이 중요하다고 생각합니다. 스케치 작업을 하면서 한국적인 느낌을 작품에 불어넣고 싶었고 그런 바램이 잘 표현되었기를 바랍니다.

The first design, Together, portrays people in a circle and sharing smiles. It’s a simple reminder of the profound connections we can forge with others, the warmth of human bonds, and the happiness that can be found in our shared moments of togetherness.

Together 는 사람들이 원을 그리며 미소를 나누는 모습을 표현했습니다. 이는 우리가 다른 사람들과 맺을 수 있는 커넥션과 따뜻한 유대감, 함께 공유하는 순간에서 느껴지는 행복함을 표현하였습니다.

In Flower Explosion, a person stands surrounded by a profusion of vibrant blooms, capturing the vivid essence of nature’s beauty. This artwork is a celebration of the wonder of the natural world, inviting us to appreciate the life that surrounds us.

Flower Explosion 이 작품은 사람이 생기 넘치는 꽃들 속에 싸여 있습니다. 이는 자연의 아름다움과 경이로움을 기념하는 작품으로 우리를 둘러싼 삶에 대해 감사함을 느끼게 합니다.

The third design, Singing in the Snow, a figure with an umbrella dances beneath a shower of colourful snowflakes. This artwork captures the joyful motion of a winter’s day, a reminder to embrace the beauty of the season and find delight in the simplest moments of life.

Singing in the Snow 세번째 작품은 화려한 눈송이를 맞으며 우산을 쓰고 춤추며 노래를 부르는 모습입니다. 이 작품은 겨울날의 즐거운 움직임을 포착하여 계절의 아름다움을 느끼고 삶의 가장 단순한 순간에서도 기쁨을 찾도록 일깨워줍니다.

The Arc, with its commitment to providing unique and thoughtful pieces of furniture, saw the potential in this collaboration to not only offer functional tables but to enhance the aesthetic value of people’s living spaces. The “little art nook” concept, where the table could be transformed into a piece of wall art, added a layer of versatility and creativity to each piece. In essence, this collaboration was a fusion of artistic expression and innovative design. It aimed to bring the joy of art into people’s homes, offering them the opportunity to not only own a functional piece of furniture but also to exhibit a work of art that can be proudly displayed in one’s home.

이번 TheArc 와 Eleonora Arosio 와의 콜라보레이션은 접으면 예쁜 오브제가 되는 비스트로볼로 테이블의 기능적 디자인을 예술과 결합하여 우리의 생활 공간에 작은 예술 작품도 전시하는 것에 목표를 두고 진행되었습니다.
독특하고 공간을 배려할 수 있는 가구를 만드는 것을 목표로 하는 디아크는 이번 협업을 통해 기능적인 테이블을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 우리가 생활하는 공간의 미적 가치를 향상시킬 수 있는 가능성을 보았습니다. 이번 콜라보레이션은 예술적 표현과 혁신적인 디자인의 결합이었고 우리가 살고 있는 공간에 예술적 즐거움을 가져다 주는 것을 목표로 하였습니다.

TheArc x Eleonora Arosio 컬렉션은 삶의 다양성과 아름다움을 표현하고 예술을 일상 생활 공간의 중심으로 끌어들이기 위한 디아크와 아티스트의 초대입니다.

While working on this collaboration, one of the most memorable moments for me was when Gabriel, the founder of TheArc, asked me to join him at SIF. It was truly a dream come true. I never would have imagined that I’d have the opportunity to fly to Seoul anytime soon. Yet, there I was, working on an amazing project and witnessing the product come to life, which I am fortunate to present in Korea myself!

이번 협업을 진행하면서 가장 기억에 남는 순간 중 하나는 디아크의 창립자인 Gabriel이 나에게 서울 일러스트레이션 페어에 함께 참가해 보자고 요청했을 때였습니다. 정말 꿈이 이루어진 것이었습니다. 조만간 서울로 날아갈 기회가 생길 거라고는 꿈에도 생각지 못했습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 나는 놀라운 프로젝트를 진행하면서 제품이 실제로 제작되는 것을 보았고, 비스트로볼로 아트 컬렉션을 한국에서 직접 선보일 수 있어 행복합니다.

My future dreams and goals for 2024 are centered around the continuous growth of my work. I aim for each project to be bigger and more memorable with each passing year. I’d love to see my illustrations applied in various forms, and often, the best projects are the ones that come as surprises. In today’s creative landscape, illustrators work with a wide range of mediums and clients, and I’m genuinely excited to see where the next year will take me. The possibilities are endless!

2024년 나의 미래 꿈과 목표는 내 일의 지속적인 성장에 맞춰져 있습니다. 각 프로젝트가 해를 거듭할수록 더 크고 기억에 남는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다. 나는 내 일러스트레이션이 다양한 형태로 적용되는 것을 보고 싶고, 종종 최고의 프로젝트들은 놀라움으로 다가옵니다. 요즘 저는 다양한 매체 및 고객들과 함께 작업하고 있으며, 내년이 나를 어디로 데려갈지 진심으로 기대됩니다. 가능성은 무궁무진합니다!
